In a recent AVID WICOR training, I confirmed a purpose for "Informal Writing" as a strategy for secondary students who are writing to learn. Throughout our HS Visual Arts / Design course, students have engaged in 3-5 minute essay writing as a means to process their thinking and learning. The "Quick Write" strategy allows 21st Century Hawks to think and write in an informal method to express themselves in "Personal Reflection" and "Connecting Knowledge" in an organized (essay format) manner.
5-Minute Essay - "Connecting Knowledge"
Art - the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.
Think about the techniques learned in Quarter 2
Write a 5-minute Essay (include an introduction, body, and conclusion)
