Oil Pastel Techniques

These OIL PASTEL TECHNIQUES helped us to prepare our Hawaii project.

1. Blending / Gradient - combining two colors will create additional colors

2. Layering Colors - when applying colors one upon another, new colors are created

3. Scrumbling - the curly stroke method creates texture and unique blends

4. Hatching / Cross Hatching - the linear stroke creates texture and value depending on pressure and value

5. Pointillism / Stippling - creating value and color with dots or specks

6. Long / Short Strokes - the strokes and be long or short to create varying textures or effects
