Acrylic Techniques

These ACRYLIC PAINT TECHNIQUES helped us to prepare our WORLD SHOWCASE PROJECT.

1. Dry Brush - acrylic paints have an opaque quality and texture

2. Wash - when mixing with water the wash technique creates a translucent appearance

3. Glazing / Layering - color combinations can be created by layering paint colors

4. Stippling / Dabbing - use small dots/specks, and even smudging with a paper towel to create imagery

5. Scumbling - a method of changing the surface texture with strokes of opaque paint

6. Alla Prima / Plein Air - a paint technique the utilizes simple brush strokes
